IOPCT Facilities (return)
Located in the village of
Godrano, and on the nearby Mastro-Grillo campus, IOPCT’s facilities encompass 219 acres of land and 58
buildings and laboratories. Paid staff members number approximately 650, with
more than half of them involved directly in scientific research. The
Institute’s higher education programs enroll approximately 130 students in
graduate-level studies and approximately 35 in summer fellowships.
The largest independent, not-for-profit, primitive cycling research
institution in the world, the IOPCT is a unique collection of individuals
working in a number of disciplines toward one primary goal: world
leadership in advancing and communicating a basic understanding of early
man's interaction with the wheel.
